Two in college! WOW! Is that possible? Wasn't it just yesterday I had one in Kindergarten and two in day care? Where has the time gone?

Sense of Accomplishment
Ok - so I am addicted to Pinterest just like every other female that has ever been on the sight. I have so many pins of things to make, cook, create, etc. I will say I have tried several yummy recipes and shared with others. I have also found some great ideas for my classroom that worked great. As far as the crafts and DIY projects I just haven't taken the time to do those yet.
I saw and repinned the cute seats made from the plastic crates.
While doing college shopping for my daughter I saw these colorful crates at Target for only $3 each. I then went to a yard sale that our Children's Pastor was having (they are missionaries and selling everything) and I came across two IKEA end tables ($10) that would be perfect to go with my new seats. My wonderful Dad bought the wood for me and then he cut and sanded my boards. I found some fabric in my closet from a previous project, purchased a foam mattress topper at Dollar General ($12) and BOOM! within 2 hours my seats are complete! I love them and can't wait to use them in my Kindergarten Classroom. So for a total of $34 I have 2 new tables and 4 seats.

Then and Now
I have created this blog to express emotions, celebrations and revelations. Today is my first day to "blog".
Have you noticed on Facebook the posts of items from the past? Things like rotary phones, the high beam button on the floor board of a car, the Brady Bunch house, pay phones, record player, etc. As I am helping my daughter Brianna pick out bedding, storage containers and more stuff for her new dorm room I began to reminisce on my college days 29+ years ago. I knew nothing about my roommate until we entered the dorm. No cell phones, which in turn means no texting. Only one phone was on our hall and you had to wait in line to make a call. I remember calling home "collect". Laundry cost 2 dimes (20 cents). We only used powder detergent. Having your own typewriter was a BIG deal and a great way to make extra money by typing papers for other people. The correction tape or the liquid. The only spell check available was my smart and intelligent boyfriend (which is now my hubby) or the Webster Dictionary. Communication with the outside world was 1 of 2 ways: Snail mail or phone call.
